PUSS CAT
1995 - 2008

I was informed of horrible news last night, that my cat was struck and killed on the Capricorn highway sometime yesterday. The news came at a horrible time as I was at a function and being the face of my firm so I had a duty upon me to remain social and strong I didnt have my chance to grieve, so I do so here where I can say some last words to and about my dear cat.

I got puss cat or as we called her PC for short when we moved into the Kabra pub for the first time. I was still a young boy in a new town and with few friends getting ready to commence year six of school. Whilst fooling around and exploring the Kabra pub and getting familiar with my new surroundings, whilst out the back of the pub I seen a young female cat, a tutter shell and whom look like a stray. Going against mums orders I began to feed it regularly and ensure it had adequate watter and milk. A bond soon arose between us, the one that dose between man and pet, a close bond, a unbreakable one, they become family.

I was glad to pick PC up as a young stray and have her domesticated, her days as a strayed gave her sense of character and she had achieved a few gold stars from the kindergarden of harden knocks and it gave her a rough us guts never say attitude to other animals and when need be a fierce killing machine all the while maintaining the sweet natured cat she was to me.

PC was a good cat over the years, always one to provide a laugh when the dogs tried pulling one over her and always a good presence to turn to for a pat, hug or cry in dark hard times where there was no one else to turn to.

Over the years she gave me much love and with that a litter of kitten from which the mighty Purist came who I also come to love like a son. There is no fitting reward that I can give to her in death apart from a pledge and a promise that she will never be forgotten and that she will be remembered for the special cat she was.

Suffice to say she died doing what she loved doing and did best, she went out whilst on th hunt. Good bye my little girl, the Queen of Kabra is dead. Goodnight sweet princess and may flights of angels thee to thy rest.

Origin Game 1

WELL What a disgraceful state of affairs that was. Queensland sucked harder then a whore on crack with attack that was about as sharp as a used crayon with the direction of a blond trying to find the find corner in a circular room. Last nights result 18 NSW 10 QLD only vindicates what everyone on the Goldcoast was saying this time last week. QLD selectors had a complete brain melt, you would be hard pressed to find a under 13's player who would have picked a worst team then that. This team included Carl Webb who is that unfit he only plays for 20 minutes max without needing a brake, to make matters worst the halves selection, without a doubt the most important selection in the game was Thurston, who isn't in his best form and to couple that the five eight is Karmichael Hunt, a full back with about 3 club games experience in the number 6, he was completely green, dint know how to feed of Thurston and was hardly involved in offensive play, perhaps testament to his inexperience is that whilst playing five eight he mistook himself to be a prop and played a defence role, although he did do such greatly.

Lets hope that our selectors find their wit and select Scotty Prince as 5/8 or half back in game to and with any luck hopefully Lockyer is ready to fill the other position relocating Thurston to the bench. Despite the disgrace of last night I thought that I might give Queenslander's something else to think about, something the blues may never take away from us.

I only put this up to tempt the spite of someone and an organisation, that is all

Flew Home

Recent News
Flew home recently for the Easter Brake, Had a prick of a flight, thats the last time i fly Nelson Airways.
Also Went and seen The Broncs take on the Cowgirls last weekend, met up with a few boys from the pub at Rocky to watch the game and a great one it was. It was nice to finally see the Broncs beat the Broke Back Mountain Boys at Suncorp and blissful to finally avoid the chants of the song "save horse ride a cowboy" from the Rocky boys, a song they always sing when they down the broncs. The Saturday was then spent at Doomben where this punter had the luck of the Irish and picked up a couple of hundred.

Back to news on footy, Cowgirls on a 3 game losing streak, what is wrong? Brisbane on streak of 3 hopping to make it four but the real test is Melbourne at Melbourne next week. With that said however the storm are far from top form and have recently gone down to the sharks and the Roosters, With the Broncos downing the Roosters a couple of weeks ago it has this Bronco faithful telling the TAB man that he thinks it will be Broncos 1 - 12, Should be good odds either way, check it out and have a punt

People in Profile

This is a first for Blackburn Legal,Tonight we bring you the first of people in profile and our first victim is Scott "The pacifier" Pearson.

To those who don't know the living legend that is Scott Pearson, Scott is local to the Gold Coast Where he started his legal career and has practiced here throughout times. After a long and successful career as a practitioner, Scott Pearson took the option to spend more time with his family and in place of handing the DPP their arse day in day out, Scott works as a negotiator for Relationships Australia and a professor at Bond University

It was in my finals days at Bond did I have the pleasure of meeting Scott Pearson, having murdered my Article Clerkship applications on the back of negligent advice from a career adviser I enrolled in the Professional Legal Training (PLT) course at Bond University so as to beat the articles requirement before admissions. It is at Bond where Scott holds the reigns as a professor of PLT and heads the advocacy division.

Having the desire to be a great advocate I took well to Scott and his teachings. Scott's teachings as his current students would know his most important lesson that there is no room for softness, tears or dramas. Scott Portrays himself as a tough man, the little general if you will, the Rambo of the legal world.

Over the weekend on the Friday I had the pleasure of attending Barristers Drinks at the Inns of Court which was a great opportunity to converse with the leading legal minds on the Coast and Scott Pearson who loves a cold beer as much as he does a heartless advocate was true to form and at the event. We both enjoyed a good deal of alcohol and Scott's evil twin that comes out after 5 to 6 beers was also there and he was good fun to. However I had the chance to converse with Scott's gorgeous and lovely wife who also attended. Being a hard ass myself who knows he to is vulnerable and has a soft side, I thought this was the perfect chance to talk to the person who knows Scott the most and a even better chance to get some gold on the old master, to see Scotty boys soft side.

Well 081 PLTer's the gold is this, Scott is apparently a very romantic man who endeavors to continuously sweep his wife off her feet. Regular are the occurrences where Scott will rush home with fresh flowers, cater for the kids and cook his wife dinner so she can rest her feet after a hard days work. Scott is also father to young boy and girl and my source tells me that Scott is even a bigger softie as a father. Apparently Scott will do anything for his children including moving mountains and Scott is determined to see that his kids never go without. From what I was told Scott's little fella can melt Scott to nothing every time whilst Scott's daughter has picked up her fathers traits and is to be advocate to fear in time to Come.

Other events that occurred at Barrister's drinks was that me and a former Bondy who is now a Barrister had a disagreement, basically he was dissing Bond and in particular the PLT course which I just came out of, So Barrister and Trainee Solicitor were itching to lock horns and I was ready to go to war. It is here that The Pacifier Scott Pearson steps in and negotiates a peaceful resolution. About 10 minutes latter after clashing heads me and that barrister went to his chambers and had a Denny Crane Alan Shaw moment and made up and continued to party, the remainder of the night memories involved Playing Air Guitar with Charlie Bagley to some ACDC.

But being impressed with Scotty's negotiation skills I say the next time we need to keep the peace in a neighboring country we send over General Scott, Imagine that charming man in his army camouflage greens, mmmmm its enough to make this straight man say oh mumma.

Anyway after deliberately smearing Scott Pearson's hard ass image before his students I think its only fit to leave with a bit of footage of Scott Pearson's fighting spirit against the crown prosecutors in his days of practice

Where's Kevin

Dynamic "Leadership" from your newly elected Prime minister is bringing you one of your favourite activities as a child into the sphere of politics, That's right Kids you can now play "Where's Wally?" whilst watching Parliament, with the current Labor government, our beloved Wally is being rolled played by Kevin Rudd. This surely, along with Rudd's pre election "Myspace" efforts will certainly liven politics up and gain the attention of thousands of young and ineligible voters.

Unless your head was under a rock you should have realised Parliament had its first sitting since the swearing in of the Rudd 07 Recession 11 government. The man who brought us catchy slogans like "new leadership" and showed how committed he was to environmental issues by also recycling past Labour campaign slogans, thought his first week in office was a bit tough though, so instead he took the Friday off and every one was asking where's Kevin, despite a intensive search Kevin was not to be found. Our new prime minister who was all about "new LEADERSHIP" was absent from his job of running the country, but not to worry those awesome Libs improvised for the Labor party.

Latter reports have confirmed that on Friday Rudd was doing a Harold Holt.

Further reports confirmed that the Labor Government also intends to bring us the world of fun that was "where in the world is Carmen Sandiago?" into boring, stale old politics by the intervention of a little game called "where in the world is Question Time on a Friday"

On a serious note though these moves from our current government are nothing short of apauling, with the first week into the Job their leader, the man at the wheel of the direction of our country wants to take the day off and holiday, and the Labor government after a standard weeks work want to take the Friday easy and have a half day by not having a question time, lets just hope that the people the Labor party represent dont get as equally slack.

Nelson Must Go

Times have been hard for this Liberal party supporter. Although defeated in the general election by the mass of an Australian public who had forgotten the oppressions of the last 5 Labor parties, We had however won enough seats in the senate to force a deadlock to any Labor bills, which is of course a major political power card, and having some form of faith in by parties integrity and substance i thought this would be the way to save our work choices legislation.

Events have occurred though where Dr Brendan Nelson was elected party leader over Malcolm Turnbell, I don't believe their is a reasonable or logical explanation of events as to how this occurred. The only events i can put this chain of events down to is that party leader was decided by a coin toss or rock off in which Nelson defeated Turnbell.

I would struggle to put in to words both my anger and disappointment when I heard that our hugely popular party leader (9%) did no have the courage or substance to stand firm on the Howard governments work choices legislation and instead he would roll back on party policy and support a bill to dissolve the work choices act in the Senate. I now have grave concerns for the Liberal party whilst Nelson stays in charge, Are we to call ourselves a party if we don't even have the substance to stand up to our opposition.

Now sure you can argue that work choices brought down the Howard Government and that to a large extent is not correct. What cost us the election was the ACTU's anti work choices legislation which was gravely misleading the Australian people, for some reason though the Lib party only seen it fit to discuss this with party members and no the general public. I put the loss of the last election down to one of those freak events in which the Australian people voted without logic, they didn't take the time to evaluate all that was happening politically and instead foolishly followed without second thought what the Media and ACTU told them.

I will proudly declare my hate for the ACTU, I see them as a Communist organisation and for the record, if you research the subject matter you will see that the Australian Communist Party once heavily infiltrated our trade unions. I loved Workchoices as I seen it as the end solution to destroy the corruption in the ACTU (not unions themselves). Having a Lib Government in power for 12 years we had seen the end of Union extortion which was rife from 1960 to 1990, work choices was going to be the final nail in the coffin. reducing the power of the corrupt unions has only proven positive, with the former Howard government holding the record for low inflation, low mortgage rates, lowest strikes and industrial disputes rates whilst managing to increase the gross real wage for Australian families.

All that has gone to shit now because Australia voted for Ear wax eating fool cause at the time Thorpie said he was fully sick. with the roll back of work choices and a heavily ACTU funded Labor party in government with several current and ex party ACTU members in the Lab party you can bet that legislation will be put in place that will allow the ACTU to effectively cripple small business and hinder big business if they chose not to bow to the extortion of the ACTU.

I just can not bring myself to like a organisation that support communist theories, They want business owners to put their own credit and credit ratings on the line to pay the wages of their members and then the ACTU like any good communist dictator wants to tell you how to spend your money and hamper your profit making.

For the next 6 years we are officially fucked, No control in the lower house and having the Libs lack the substance to stand up for their policies in the Senate, these will be dark times. With this wave of communism we should expect two flags we will have to solute to.

Trouble down at BlackAcre

There could be trouble of revolutionary proportion stirring down the old farm at BlackAcre, this could turn the land law world on its head.

I’m pretty sure the teachings are universal through out law school when learning of leases, licenses and easements and young aspiring lawyer to be will deal WhiteAcre, BlackAcre and even brief dealing of RedAcre and if you missed them worry not you will cover them again in my mate, Denis Ong's equity classes in ether voluntary equitable trust or equitable assignments.

Anyway, if culling all the bah bah Black sheep on BlackAcre and replacing them with Coloured sheep wasn’t enough, I heard on the rumour mill today that the politically correct Civil Libertarian warmonger's are having a issue with BlackAcre being called . . . well "Black". In time to come we may have to call it ColouredAcre.

One must ask themselves how ridiculous are we going to get here, we may as well just outlaw the use of the word black for these leftie commie scum, Ah well I'll just have to get use to saying that I wear a suit that is coloured a very dark tone. And now that I think of the matter I may as well get used to changing my Surname. I am now to be known as Jack Anthony Colouredburn.

In other news though it is reported that WhiteAcre and it’s White sheep that graze there are safe from the change of political correctness, and this is because its safe to persecute against the majority, they can handle it.

I'll leave you with this

I can imagination that the gays are going to be outraged haha as surely the civil libertarians can find a way to show that calling this old nursurey song bah bah rainbow sheep in some form or another is derogative or disrespectful to homosexuals and their rainbow coloured flag.

Denny Crane

The Life of the Lawyer

Well, I’ve been out of school and in the legal industry for a month now, and I’m loving every minute of it. You'll learn so much more then they can ever teach you at law school, I'd probably be incapable of summing those experiences into words and would only do myself injustice in the attempt to.

I’ve always said I’m pretty fucking good, and its nice to know that its not just my ego or confident/arrogant character that says such, for now I have an amazing track record of success, Haven’t lost a case this week, but that’s only due to a lucky adjournment saving an ass kicking for next week haha.

This being a legal entry I'll leave u with a clip of the style I endorse from a not half bad legal movie, also a lesson for you young kiddies: Remember that knowledge is power, with the right force of power anything is possible, but also remember its not always what you know, but whom you know
